Costa Rica is a country in Central America. It borders to the north with Nicaragua, to the southeast with Panama, its territory is bathed to the east by the Caribbean Sea and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Its capital, political and economic center is San José. The official language is Spanish.

During July and August there are short dry seasons called "summers". In the Caribbean, including the Caribbean region and the northern region, there is definitely no dry season. In the coastal area there are, however, relatively dry periods, one in March and April and the other in September and October. Here the rains usually occur at sunset or at night.
